The season for crab is almost upon us, beginning August 15 and running through September 30. Birch Bay is well known as one of the most popular crabbing areas in the NW. The crab are plentiful and perhaps it’s so popular because the water is so accessible in Birch Bay. People will use boats, kayaks, and paddleboards to drop their crab pots, and many people will even walk into the water with buckets to catch crab by hand. Follow the rules and be safe on the water!
