Birch Bay State Park Beach 🪣🦪

Birch Bay state Park is home to one of the most popular beaches in the area. With a full mile of waterfront, a convenient boat ramp and plenty of space to spread out, it’s perfect for families looking to picnic, relax, or soak up the sun. 

The shallow waters make it ideal for kids to safely wade and play, while low tide reveals expansive flats and tide pools waiting to be explored. Clamming is also a favorite activity here, drawing visitors from near and far. The park offers ample restroom facilities, including showers. 🎟️ Please note: a Discover Pass is required for parking within the park 🎟️.

Birch Bay Beach Access Points🏝️🅿️

There are plenty of great spots to enjoy the shoreline in Birch Bay!

The main waterfront strip through the heart of town is easily accessible from the road, with public parking available at several locations nea the Visitor Center. On the southern side of the bay, you’ll find numerous beach access points tucked between charming cottages 🏡 – some of which offer limited parking, so plan ahead during busy days!

Semiahmoo Beach🚶‍♀️🚴

🌊Just a short 10-minute drive from Birch Bay, Semiahmoo Spit offers long, scenic beaches and stunning views at Semiahmoo Park.

The beach stretches for just over a mile from the park to the resort, featuring a unique mix of sand and smooth rocks. For event more adventure, you can cross over to the Drayton Harbor side of the spit, where a trail winds its way down to the marina. Keep an eye out near the floating concrete barriers at the marina – you’ll often spot harbor seals lounging in the sun 🦭☀️!

Point Whitehorn Reserve Beach 🌿🌊

Enjoy a peaceful escape with a scenic 1-mile hike through the beautiful Point Whitehon Marine Reserve. The trail leads you to a quiet, windswept cobble beach stretching from the point all the way to the BP tanker docks. 🥾🌾

It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a secluded walk along the bluffs, where you might not see another soul for miles. A fantastic place to bring a picnic lunch and relax after your nature hike. 🧺🍎🐚
