National Night Out 2026

National Night Out Brings the Community Together

We had the honor of co-hosting this year’s National Night Out at Birch Bay Beach Park last Tuesday! It was a wonderful evening celebrating the people and agencies who work hard to keep our community safe.

A huge thank you to our Birch Bay Neighborhood Deputy,Β Joel Douglas, for all his hard work bringing so many agencies together and even coordinating a helicopter flyover! We were thrilled to welcome representatives from the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office, local fire departments, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Bikers Against Child Abuse, Washington State Patrol, Blaine Police, Washington State Parks Rangers, and the FDA.

Thank you to Birch Bay Parks and Recreation and Friends of the Birch Bay Library for partnering with us and providing cotton candy and fun activities for the kids. And a special shoutout to Sahara Pizza in Birch Bay for donating pizza for our first responders and government workers, along with 300 slices for event attendees!

We are incredibly grateful to all of our first responders for everything they do to serve and protect our community.

We also want to congratulate North Whatcom Fire & RescueΒ on the passage of their levy lid lift, which will help fund much-needed building and equipment updates, as well as additional firefighters and EMTs. We are grateful for this investment in the safety of our community!
