Residents and visitors to Birch Bay can now enjoy Italian food at Scampi Osteria. The new restaurant took over the space formerly occupied by Vonna’s Purple Fin, and opened on July 5th. The restaurant is run by experienced restaurateur Giovanni Saffioti who has opened and run eight restaurants on the west coast since 1991. The menu features traditional Italian favorites and is currently open from 5-9pm Monday-Saturday.
After months of renovation and repairs the Bay Breeze restaurant has re-opened this summer and based upon early reports it sounds like they’ve been able to repeat the formula that brought them success last summer. As many will recall the restaurant suffered extensive damage over the winter when a large storm and high tide hit Birch Bay’s only water-side dining establishment. The restaurant offers a variety of food including seafood options and traditional fare such as burgers.
